Blues Point blues

Visited the much-maligned Blues Point Tower today (Photo 1), via Lavender Bay and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You can understand why this particular building is so hated - a building of this style, right on the harbour was never going to sit well with Sydney-siders. The funny thing is, its architect Harry Seidler, designed this building as a reaction to the proposition that Blues Point be zoned for industrial use! For a complete photo, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues_Point_Tower.

Like most buildings of this kind, there is a sadness, a kind of melancholy that, I don't know, speaks to me in some way. I don't consider them ugly, just misunderstood! I also find it hilarious that a building, perhaps with the best views in Sydney is without a single balcony!
